Although you may be a doctor that employs a billing company to perform your
coding and billing, you are still responsible for every claim submitted on your
behalf. Since you are responsible for every claim, it would make sense to
utilize an outside agency experienced in emergency medicine to review the
practices of your billing or coding company. We recommend that a physician
review their billing or coding company at least once a year; however, quarterly
